Ingredients of Sev usal

  1. It's 3/4 cup of dry green peas.
  2. Prepare 1 cup of tomato puree.
  3. Prepare as required of add some coriander leaves in it.
  4. Prepare 1/2 c of boiled and mashed potato.
  5. Prepare 1 tb of green chilli paste.
  6. You need 1/2 cup of fresh coriander.
  7. It's 5-6 tbsp of oil.
  8. It's 1 tsp of turmeric powder.
  9. It's 1/2 tbsp of sev coriander.
  10. You need 1 tsp of cumin powder.
  11. It's 2 tb of red chilli powder.
  12. You need 1 tbsp of sev usal masala.
  13. Prepare 1 tsp of garam masala.
  14. Prepare 1 tb of besan.
  15. It's to taste of Salt.
  16. Prepare as required of water.
  17. Prepare of For red chutney(Tari).
  18. Prepare 1 tbsp of oil.
  19. It's 1 tbsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder.
  20. It's 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  21. It's 1tsp of coriander ,cumin powder.
  22. Prepare 1/4 tsp of garam masala.
  23. It's 1tsp of sev usal masala.
  24. You need 1/4 tsp of salt.
  25. Prepare 2-3 tbp of water.
  26. It's as per need of Garnishing Tomato Fresh coriander Green chutney Tari Gathiya.

First is making the ragda and second is assembling it. For making ragda, we have taken soaked white peas over night and cooked them in pressure cooker. Sev Usal / Spiced Dried Peas Curry / Gujarat Street Food is a popular street food from Gujarat (India). This Sev Usal is prepared with dried green peas and some spicy and aromatic ingredients.

Sev usal instructions

  1. Soak dried peas in normal water for 4-5 hours.then add it in cooker for boiling at this time we add potato,salt and pinch of turmeric powder with peas,take enough.
  2. Water(around 1-1/2 c)and make 4-5 whistle on mid.flame.take oil in pan when oil become hot turmeric and chili paste mix it now we add tomato puree(it you want add onion and garlic you can add along with tomato &spices..
  3. When oil is released from puree at this time we add boiled peas mixture mix it add enought water for boiling.after 4-5 min.our sev usal is start to boiling now we add besan(mix it with 2-3tb water)sev usal masala and garam masala again boil it for at least 15-20 min.now turn off theflame and add fresh coriander leaves..
  4. For tari(red chutney) add oil in a small pan,mix all spices in bowl mix it with 3tb water.when oil is hot now we add spice mixture and cook it for 1-2 min..
  5. Serving take sev usal in bowl add red and green chutney,chopped tomato(you can add onion also),fresh coriander and gayhiya or sev.serve hot sev usal with pav or bun.enjoy this recipe at your home..
