Easiest Way to Prepare Delicious Sundubu-jjigae

Sundubu-jjigae. Sundubu jjigae is a Korean stew made with soft (uncurdled) tofu as a highlight ingredient. There are a few different ways to make sundubu jjigae using different ingredients (e.g. kimchi, minced pork and seafood) but by far my favorite version is the seafood version known as Haemul Sundubu Jjigae (해물 순두부 찌개). It's hot, spicy, filling, comforting, delicious, soft tofu stew and has many reasons to be one of the most popular items in Korean restaurants.

  1. It's of Broth.
  2. It's of Dried kelp (arm size).
  3. Prepare of Anchovy (sachet).
  4. Prepare 1/2 of radish (sliced).
  5. It's of Ingredients.
  6. It's of Pork belly (thinly sliced).
  7. You need 1 pack of tofu (regular).
  8. You need 2 of garlic.
  9. You need 1/4 of onion.
  10. It's 1 tbsp of chilli pepper.

This second time around I found mushroom bouillon so I'm going to add that instead of just doubling up on the MSG like last time. Sundubu jjigae is a variety of traditional Korean stews. Besides numerous other ingredients, the foundation of sundubu is uncurdled tofu. Since the tofu is not strained, its consistency is not firm, but rather soft and silky.

  3. After, add the tofu in then break into pieces. When it's cooked, crack an egg and bring it to boil or half. Sprinkle with green onion before serving..

Sundubu - Spicy Korean Soft Tofu Stew. It's has to be my favorite dish to eat when I'm craving that Korean spice! At Incheon International Airport - you'll see many Koreans that have returned home from abroad, lining up to order a sizzling pot of Soondubu - in hopes to get their digestion back on track (lol).
