Sago vada. Sago Vada Recipe / Sabudana Vada Recipe / Javvarisi Vadai Recipe. This has been in my to do list for quite a while. I wanted to make it and post before navrathri because it is a must make and most of us favorite vada too.
Sabudana vada or Sago vada is one of the popular Maharashtrian recipes made during Navaratri fasting (vrat). This is the first time I am trying my hands at this vada recipe should say it was a hit at home. Sabudana vada are a deep fried snack made with tapioca pearls, peanuts and potatoes. You can have Sago vada using 6 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you achieve that.
Ingredients of Sago vada
- Prepare 1 cup of sabudana.
- Prepare 3,4 of boiled potatoes.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of singhara atta.
- Prepare 2,3 of chopped green chillies.
- Prepare 1 tsp of salt or to taste.
- You need 3 tbsp of oil.
These are usually made during religious Hindu fastings. Serve them for a evening snack with green chutney. Sago vada instructions
- Soak sabudana for one hour. After that drain water add boiled potatoes and mix well.
- Then add singhara atta, chopped chillies,salt, water if required & make dough..
- At this stage make shape like vada or tikki. Heat oil in a pan fry these vadas one by one..
- Transfer in a plate and serve with nariyal chutney. Very nice snacks for navratras..
Both Sabudana Vada and Sabudana Khichdi are two recipes that I make during fasting days.
